1. 2022

   A table for eight

   A friend's dinner in Jabal Amman, two empty chairs left side by side, and a conversation about old songs that outlasted the dessert and the candles.

2. 2024

   Two families, one evening

   Coffee in the Al-Hourani garden. Ahmad's mother brought knafeh; Bayan's grandmother brought the photo albums. Nobody left before midnight.

3. 2026

   A ribbon and a locket

   He asked with a silver locket tied in burgundy ribbon. Inside, the photograph from that first dinner — they had both kept a copy.
